Corazon Fuerte Scholarship

This scholarship was created by the Association of Latinx American Students (ALAS) to recognize a student leader at SUNY Brockport. Eligible applicants can be incoming or enrolled undergraduate or graduate students who are first time freshman, sophomores, juniors, or a returning graduate student. Applicants must possess a GPA of a 2.0 or better and submit a reflective essay of at least 500 words responding to a specific prompt pertaining to a leadership experience. Preference will be given to applicants of Latinx/Hispanic descent and active members of the Association of Latinx American Students (ALAS). Student applicants must have at least one semester remaining after the scholarship is awarded.

This is an Apply-To Opportunity. Applicants will need to submit one or more additional items to be considered for this award.

The financial assistance is in the form of a non-tuition educational expense grant that may be used to cover educational costs such as room, board or college fees. The award will be credited to the recipient’s bill during the semester(s) of the award period. The student must use this award for educational expenses at the College and may not receive the award in cash.
