NYS Federation of Home Bureaus Scholarship in Honor of Winifred E. Craddock

This scholarship recognizes a full-time undergraduate or a full- or part-time graduate student who displays academic excellence and a firm commitment to healthcare studies, public health and health education, or recreation and leisure studies, with a GPA of 2.85 or better, and who resides in one of the the New York State counties where the NYS Federation of Home Bureaus, Inc., has an organized chapter. Applicants are required to have an in-depth interview with representatives for the NYS Federation of Home Bureaus scholarship selection committee.

Winifred E. Craddock, known as “Winnie” to her many friends and acquaintances, served in county, district and state offices before becoming President of the NYS Federation in 1967-68. She also served as an active volunteer with local and state civic organizations, including the Holley Central School, the Red Cross and the American Cancer Society. Designation of the scholarship for a student in the Department of Recreation & Leisure Studies reflects Mrs. Craddock’s interest.

The financial assistance is in the form of a non-tuition educational expense grant that may be used to cover educational costs such as room, board or college fees. The award will be credited to the recipient’s bill during the semester(s) of the award period.
