BASC and Barnes & Noble Scholarship

The Brockport Auxiliary Services Corporation provides key support not offered by SUNY Brockport. As a non-profit 501© 3 corporation located on the Brockport campus, BASC operates dining, catering and vending services, conferences and events, ATMs, Campus ID services, and transportation.

BASC is the largest student employer on campus with approximately 350 students working in service operations. Annually, BASC pays student employees a combined total of nearly $1.5 million. BASC fosters student success while enhancing the quality of campus life and supporting the strategic initiatives of the College.

As one of its responsibilities, BASC manages the campus bookstore, which is part of the Barnes & Noble College Bookstore network. B&N itself is one of the largest enterprises in American retail and the nation’s largest retail bookseller. B&N College Bookstores are the leading operator of college bookstores in the United States,.

At Brockport, the B&N College Bookstore sponsors seven annual scholarships to recognize student employees of BASC, who are active on campus or in their communities, have a 3.0 GPA or better, and who are employed by BASC or the B&N College Bookstore.
