Brockport Rotary Scholarship in Memory of Paul Hoy

The Brockport Rotary Club established a scholarship in memory of long-time member Paul Hoy, who passed away in 2013 at age 75. Hoy was the retired assistant chief of police in the Village of Brockport. A veteran of the United States Navy, he attended the FBI National Academy before beginning his career in law enforcement.

Mr. Hoy was active with the Brockport Rotary, which sponsors the Rotaract Club on the Brockport campus. Students who are active Rotaract members at SUNY Brockport receive preference in the selection process for the Brockport Rotary Scholarship. Active members of the organization are those who regularly attend meetings and participate in service projects.

To be eligible for this award, students may be graduate or undergraduate students who have completed at least one year at Brockport. They must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and must submit a one- to two-page essay detailing interest and commitment to service activities as well as reasons for joining the Rotaract Club.
