Brother-to-Brother Scholarship
Kevon D. London-Hill, representing himself and a group of other fund donors, established the Brother-to-Brother Scholarship at SUNY Brockport to recognize an outstanding student at the College with preference given to a male student who identifies with a historically underrepresented minority.
London-Hill, class valedictorian and varsity basketball player at Rochester’s Edison Career and Technology High School, knew Brockport was the right opportunity for him when the college’s EOP representatives visited his high school. While London-Hill was a student at Brockport, Gary Owens, director of the college’s Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), served as a positive role model for him after his mother’s passing.
London-Hill appreciated the academic and financial support he received through the program and now works as an EOP senior counselor at Brockport. He is studying for his master’s degree in athletic administration at the College and serves as head junior varsity basketball coach at Brockport High School.
Applicants for the Brother-to-Brother Scholarship can be incoming or current undergraduate or graduate students at SUNY Brockport. Preference will go to a male student who is a member of a historically underrepresented group. Applicants must submit a 500-word essay on how they exhibit strong character and leadership as well as how they appreciate cultural inclusion on and off the Brockport campus.
