Charles J. Ashworth Memorial Scholarship in Business and Economics
Ella Potote Ashworth ’33 established a scholarship in memory of her husband, Charles J. Ashworth, a businessperson in Brockport and other western New York communities. The Charles J. Ashworth Memorial Scholarship in Business and Economics at SUNY Brockport recognizes Mr. Ashworth’s distinguished service to customers.
A United States Navy veteran of World War II, Mr. Ashworth worked for the Thomas Dobson Company, managing merchandising, displays, and sales to drug stores from the firm’s Brockport offices. In 1950, he received an award of merit from the Rexall Drug Company for his knowledge and effectiveness.
To qualify for this scholarship, a student must be a sophomore who will enter junior year in the fall, demonstrate a commitment to a career in business administration and economics, and have an overall GPA of 3.25 and a GPA of 3.25 or better in four of the prerequisite courses completed during the sophomore year.
