Dr. Judson E. Werbela Memorial Scholarship

Catherine Brennan and Charles Snyder established the Dr. Judson E. Werbela Memorial Scholarship at SUNY Brockport in memory of their late friend. The three met during their freshman year, sharing classes and becoming close friends. After graduation, Dr. Werbela became a Doctor of Chiropractic medicine who had a successful practice in Rochester, NY.

The award recognizes an outstanding entering student in the hard sciences, and it is renewable for up to four years of study if the recipient remains in good academic standing while maintaining their course of study in biology, chemistry and bio-chemistry, earth science, environmental science and biology, or physics.

Ms. Brennan and Mr. Snyder hope this scholarship will honor the memory of Dr. Werbela and celebrate lifelong friendships.

To qualify, applicants must be incoming freshman students who intend to major in one of the hard sciences at the College. Applicants must demonstrate the potential for excellence in their chosen program.
