Dr. Kimberley D. Willis ’05/’08 Scholarship

SUNY Brockport Director of Financial Aid, Dr. Kimberley D. Willis ’05/’08 established a scholarship in her name to recognize an outstanding transfer student who is coming to Brockport from a community college.

Dr. Willis, who received her associate’s degree from Monroe Community College, earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Brockport in 2005 and 2008, respectively. Her bachelor’s degree is in Business Administration and her master’s degree is in Public Administration. She earned her D.Mgt. from the University College at the University of Maryland in 2012.

She has spent more than 20 years in administrative, student, and academic services, most recently focused on higher education leadership with a focus on student and institutional success. Beginning in 1999 through 2015, she worked at Monroe Community College, rising from assistant director of Student Accounts, to associate then acting director of Registration and Records, and acting director of Campus Events. Dr. Willis was inducted into the Monroe Community College Alumni Hall of Fame in 2015.

During that year, she became College Registrar at SUNY Geneseo, and in 2020, she joined Brockport as director of Financial Aid. She also has served as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Rochester.

Applicants for the Dr. Kimberley D. Willis ’05/’08 Scholarship must be transfer students from a community college who have completed at least 24 credit hours and have a transfer GPA of 3.0 or better. Preference will go to a student who represents a historically underrepresented minority group, especially those who identify as Black or African-American. Preference also will go to an adult student, who is 25 years-old or older.
