Edmund and Tina Hundt Scholarship
Edmund and Tina Hundt came to the United States separately as children when their families immigrated from Germany. After Mr. Hundt served in the US Army, the couple moved to Brockport where they opened a local restaurant—Eddie’s Donut Shop—that quickly became a favorite for many village residents. Both Mr. and Mrs. Hundt became respected members of the business community. They also became known for their extensive volunteer activities with the Sweden Senior Center, the Lakeside Memorial Hospital and Beikirch Nursing Home, Concordia Lutheran Church in Brockport, and other organizations.
This scholarship at SUNY Brockport was established by Dr. Frances Moroney Whited and Dr. Clark V. Whited in recognition of the many years Mr. and Mrs. Hundt devoted to serving the Brockport community as business owners, community members, and dedicated volunteers, and for their care and concern for the young people in the community.
The scholarship recognizes an outstanding graduate of Brockport High School who is accepted for full-time study at Brockport for the fall semester. The scholarship committee at Brockport High School selects the recipient for this award based on demonstrated leadership skills and voluntary service to others.
