Eugene C. Fish Scholarship

Joan C. Young ’53 established the Eugene C. Fish Scholarship in memory of her late husband to recognize an outstanding student in the Department of Kinesiology, Sport Studies and Physical Education at SUNY Brockport who has demonstrated a commitment to excellence in the teaching profession.

Eugene C. Fish was a member of the Class of 1954, a teacher, coach, and athlete. Mrs. Young was an elementary school teacher and staff member at the College. After their marriage, the couple taught for several years at the US Department of Defense Dependents Schools in Europe.

Applicants who qualify for this scholarship will be current or transfer students with at least two years of study remaining at Brockport, are accepted into the teacher certification program in physical education and demonstrate academic excellence, a record of volunteerism, a commitment to teaching, and financial need.
