Gladys W. Queen Future Teacher Award

Gladys W. Queen Future Teacher Award

During the time her husband, Dr. George S. Queen, was a member of the faculty at SUNY Brockport, Mrs. Gladys W. Queen taught social studies at the Brockport School District. She was a member of the district’s faculty for 24 years.

She supported her husband’s belief in the importance of training teachers by establishing a scholarship in her name for a graduate of Brockport High School who planned to attend the college.

To qualify for the Gladys W. Queen Future Teacher Scholarship, applicants must have graduated from Brockport High School after attending for at least three years, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, be accepted into an education, mathematics, or science program at the college, and show leadership potential in teaching. The Scholarship Committee at Brockport High School selects the recipient for this award.
