James Francis Harris Memorial Award
This award honors the memory of James Francis Harris, who died in an automobile accident during his first semester at The College at Brockport in 1951. His mother Lena Harris established this award.
The James Francis Harris Memorial Award recognizes a deserving student with a disability who is enrolled as a full-time student at the College and who has served as a role model for others with disabilities, especially high school students.
To be eligible for this award, candidates must be registered with the Student Accessibility Services and have documentation on file supporting their status as a student with disabilities.
Candidates also must be full-time, matriculated students, either undergraduate or graduate, with a GPA of at least 2.5 after at least two semesters at Brockport, demonstrate participation in campus and/or community activities, and show a willingness to act as a role model for high school students with disabilities who are interested in attending Brockport.
