Lathan H. and Alyce M. Lampen Award

Alyce M. Lampen ’34 established the Lathan H. and Alyce M. Lampen Award in memory of her husband to recognize a worthy undergraduate student continuing their studies at The College at Brockport.

Mrs. Lampen was associate librarian at the College from 1961 to 1979 and was given the associate librarian emerita distinction after her retirement. Mr. Lampen had a successful career as an insurance underwriter.

The Lathan H. and Alyce M. Lampen Award recognizes an undergraduate student whose leadership and service to others on campus or within the Brockport community reflects the ethical development critical to individual dignity and a humane society.

Eligible applicants for this award must have completed at least 30 credit hours at the College with plans to continue their studies at Brockport. In addition, applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0; must demonstrate a record of service to fellow students, working with youth, or sponsoring special projects to improve life condition; and must submit a personal statement of their careers goals along with two letters of recommendation from non-family members.
