Michael D. Cravotta '85 Media Communication Scholarship
The Michael D. Cravotta ’85 Media Communication Scholarship recognizes outstanding students in the Department of Journalism, Broadcasting, and Public Relations who will become tomorrow’s outstanding communicators.
At The College at Brockport, Michael Cravotta majored in communication/journalism and business administration/marketing. In addition to his double major, he participated in Brockport Student Government; WBSU, the campus radio station; and The Stylus, the student newspaper, along with a series of internships. One of those internships led to his first position as a writer for Burroughs Corp. in Rochester prior to his graduation.
Since that first position, Mr. Cravotta has found success in marketing, advertising, and public relations – success that he attributes to his experiences at Brockport. Throughout his career, Mr. Cravotta has directed creative initiatives for several financial services companies, including for the past 20 years the Capital Group/American Funds, where he now serves as associate vice president and creative director.
He established this scholarship to help provide needed financial assistance for deserving communication students.
