Patricia Anne Ryan Memorial Nursing Scholarship
Mr. Joseph Ryan established the Patricia Anne Ryan Memorial Nursing Scholarship at The College at Brockport in memory of his late wife to recognize an outstanding student in the College’s baccalaureate nursing program.
Patricia Anne Ryan was a professor in Brockport’s Department of Nursing, where she earned a reputation as a dedicated teacher. As a nurse, she served as a role model for her students by by basing her nursing care on sound values and ethical principles.
To be eligible for this scholarship, students must be accepted into the baccalaureate nursing program and have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Applicants should not only demonstrate an ability to excel in the nursing profession, but also evidence of sound values and ethical principles. In addition, applicants must demonstrate a range of interests and talents as shown by their participation in co-curricular activities and/or service to the College or the community. They must submit two letters of reference that address their ability to excel in a nursing career, their ethical principles, and their participation in college or community service activities. Financial need will be considered.
Applicants should apply during their junior years for the award to be applied during their senior year.
