Science Scholar Award
The Department of Earth Sciences at SUNY Brockport established the Science Scholar Award to recognize to recognize an outstanding incoming student to one of the department’s programs.
This award receives funding through annual sales of the Brockport Weather Calendar, developed and produced by members of the Department of Earth Sciences.
The Science Scholar Award encourages incoming students, either first-year or transfer, to study earth science, geology, meteorology, or water resources at SUNY Brockport. Qualified applicants are accepted into the Department of Earth Sciences beginning with the semester following selection, have a substantial background in science and mathematics, an outstanding academic record, and show evidence of a career interest in one or more of the earth sciences that comprise the department.
Students can renew this scholarship for up to eight consecutive semesters if they maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA or better and maintain satisfactory progress toward a degree offered by the department.
