Suzanne Malpocher '73 Golden Eagle Opportunity Fund
Suzanne Malpocher ’73 established the Golden Eagle Opportunity Fund in her name to recognize two students enrolled in the Department of Education and Human Development at SUNY Brockport each year.
After Mrs. Malpocher earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology at Brockport, she began her career in education, first teaching in the Gates-Chili Central School District outside Rochester and then in the Spencerport (NY) Central School District. She went on to teach language arts at Sacred Heart Cathedral School in Rochester, where she also served in administration as the language arts coordinator.
Applicants who qualify for a scholarship from the Suzanne Malpocher ’73 Golden Eagle Opportunity Fund can be either an undergraduate or a graduate student enrolled in the Department of Education and Human Development. They must have a GPA between 2.5 and 3.5 and demonstrate a need for financial assistance as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Each year the fund will award one scholarship to an undergraduate student and one to a graduate student. The selection committee may consider students with higher GPAs if there are no applicants with GPAs between 2.5 and 3.5.
