Terry Gore Prize for Military History

Family, friends, and colleagues created the Terry Gore Prize for Military History at SUNY Brockport in memory of Mr. Gore ’89 to recognize an outstanding student in the Department of History who has demonstrated excellence in the study of military history.

Mr. Gore earned his master’s degree at Brockport and was an adjunct professor in the history department. He also was a lecturer at Genesee Community College and was a published authority on war gaming and military history. Mr. Gore passed away in 2005.

Qualified applicants must be accepted into the Department of History at Brockport as either an undergraduate or graduate student and demonstrate academic excellence through a paper on military history submitted for a course at the 300 to 600 level. Theses are not eligible.
