Woolf Erin Obourn Scholarship
Dr. Milo Obourn established the Woolf Erin Obourn Scholarship at SUNY Brockport. The scholarship recognizes an outstanding student in the college’s Department of Women and Gender Studies.
Dr. Obourn, associate professor of English and chair of the Department of Women and Gender Studies, joined the Brockport faculty in 2007. They earned their doctoral degree at New York University, and they are the author of book chapters, articles in scholarly journals, and two books, Reconstituting America: Liberal Multiculturalism and Identity Difference in Post 1960s Literature, and Disabled Futures: A Framework for Radical Inclusion.
Qualified applicants for the Woolf Erin Obourn Scholarship are Brockport students accepted into the Department of Women and Gender Studies at the junior or senior level, who demonstrate academic excellences as determined by a selection committee comprised of faculty, staff, and representatives from the Women’s Studies Advisory Board. Applicants also must submit an essay that describes their commitment to social justice, including identity-based activism, inclusion; and racial, gender, and socio-economic equity.
