The Jeanne B. Stewart '60 and the John R. Stewart Memorial Scholarships
This scholarship was established by Jeanne B. Stewart to recognize two outstanding, incoming first time, freshmen who demonstrate strong academic achievement and financial need. Eligible applicants must be graduates of Bloomfield Central School, demonstrate academic excellence, and demonstrate a need for financial assistance as judged by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) minus any other awarded grants or scholarships. Preference will be given to a first generation college student, however all applications will be reviewed. A second preference will be that one recipient be a female student and the other be a male student.
This is a renewable scholarship for recipients for up to a total of four academic years (eight semesters) as long as the students remain eligible. Recipients must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher to remain eligible. If a student falls below a 3.0GPA in a semester, they may be granted a “grace period” for one semester with the goal to enable the recipient to bring their GPA back to eligibility standards.
Eligible incoming students are considered for this opportunity based on their undergraduate admission application.
The financial assistance is in the form of a educational expense grant that may be used to cover educational costs such as room, board or college fees. The award will be credited to the recipient’s bill during the semester(s) of the award period. The student must use this award for educational expenses at the College and may not receive the award in cash.
