President Albert W. and Marjorie H. Brown Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to multiple, incoming first-time students who are accepted into the SUNY Brockport Honors College. Incoming students who are already accepted into the Honors College, or who have applied and are awaiting the Honors College decision, will be considered. All eligible applicants will be considered however, preference to given to applicants who are residents of LeFargeville, NY and Clayton, NY and/or attended high school at LeFargeville CSD or at Thousand Islands CSD.
This scholarship was established to honor Dr. Brown, president emeritus who served the College from 1965 to 1981, and Mrs. Brown, who was the first lady of the College. A recognized leader in American higher education, Dr. Brown was constant in his commitment to academic excellence at SUNY Brockport and was a leader in the establishment of programs to recognize outstanding students. The fund is also in memory of Edith E. Brown, Dr. Brown’s mother.
This is an Apply-To Opportunity. Applicants will need to submit one or more additional items to be considered for this award.
The financial assistance is in the form of a non-tuition educational expense grant that may be used to cover educational costs such as room, board or college fees. The award will be credited to the recipient’s bill during the semester(s) of the award period. The student must use this award for educational expenses at the College and may not receive the award in cash.
