Dr. Edward Charles Lehman, Jr. Sociology Department Scholarship
This scholarship recognizes an outstanding student in the Department of Sociology who demonstrates the potential to impact the global discipline of Sociology.
The recipient will be:
*enrolled as a matriculated student, full or part time, in the Department of Sociology,
*entering junior or senior years after award selection,
*possess a GPA of 3.0 or better and/or place in the top 10% of Sociology majors at the time of selection,
*demonstrate the potential to impact the global discipline of Sociology as judged by the Department of Sociology selection committee. For example, the student demonstrates potential to pursue higher learning in Sociology or a related graduate field and/or in other ways,
*preference will be given to a US Military Veteran or a current member of the Brockport ROTC program and/or student who is working part-time or full-time while enrolled as a student to defray the costs of educational expenses.
This is an Auto-Match Opportunity. Applicants are auto-matched to this award based on their submission of their General Application.
The financial assistance is in the form of a non-tuition educational expense grant that may be used to cover educational costs such as room, board or college fees. The award will be credited to the recipient’s bill during the semester(s) of the award period. The student must use this award for educational expenses at the College and may not receive the award in cash.
