Susan E. Edmunds Arts Advocacy Scholarship
This scholarship annually recognizes one or more students who demonstrate a commitment to advocacy for the arts and has strived to raise awareness of the benefits of the arts in teaching, learning, and the betterment of society. Eligible applicants are enrolled in one of the visual or performing arts programs, as a major or minor, at SUNY Brockport, demonstrate academic excellence with at least a 3.0 GPA, and demonstrate the purpose of this scholarship.
All eligible applicants will be considered; however, preference will be provided to applicants who are entering their junior or senior years at the time the scholarship is disbursed.
This is an Apply-To Opportunity. Applicants will need to submit one or more additional items to be considered for this award after submitting the General Application.
The financial assistance is in the form of a non-tuition educational expense grant that may be used to cover educational costs such as room, board or college fees. The award will be credited to the recipient’s bill during the semester(s) of the award period. The student must use this award for educational expenses at the College and may not receive the award in cash.

- In a well-written response of no more than 500 words, highlight your involvement and leadership roles in the arts, describe your efforts in advocating for the arts using examples of how you have strived to bring awareness of the benefits of the arts through teaching and/or learning, and reflect on how the arts benefit society.
