Kurt Williams Scholarship for Excellence in Reporting

This scholarship recognizes an outstanding student who has worked for The Stylus for at least one semester before applying. Work should include but not be limited to investigative reporting, features, editorials, and columns; student should be in good academic standing, and demonstrate a commitment to a career in journalism or media-related work. As part of the application student should submit examples of well-written, accurate coverage on difficult issues; student work should reflect a concern for free speech and First Amendment right as well as an understanding of national and international concerns.

To be considered for this opportunity you must apply through the “All Journalism, Public Relations and Broadcasting Scholarships" application.

The financial assistance is in the form of a non-tuition educational expense grant that may be used to cover educational costs such as room, board or college fees. The award will be credited to the recipient’s bill during the semester(s) of the award period. The student must use this award for educational expenses at the College and may not receive the award in cash.
