OSAD/BSLF Scholarship
This scholarship recognizes an outstanding student member of the Organization for Students of African Descent (OSAD) at SUNY Brockport. Eligible applicants are those that completed at least one full academic year at Brockport and participated as an active member in OSAD. An active member is defined as attending at least three OSAD general body meetings and participate in at least two OSAD-sponsored events during the year. Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence through a GPA of at least 3.0 and demonstrate a commitment to the purpose and values of OSAD by providing a written response of their active involvement in the organization including a listing of any leadership roles, volunteer experience, project involvement, etc.
This is an Apply-To Opportunity. Applicants will need to submit one or more additional items to be considered for this award after submitting the General Application.
The financial assistance is in the form of a non-tuition educational expense grant that may be used to cover educational costs such as room, board or college fees. The award will be credited to the recipient’s bill during the semester(s) of the award period. The student must use this award for educational expenses at the College and may not receive the award in cash.
