Rick Woodson Journalism Scholarship
The Rick Woodson Journalism Scholarship was created to recognize an outstanding student in the Journalism program at SUNY Brockport who has demonstrated commitment and potential for excellence in the career of journalism and newswriting. A sports writer for several decades with daily newspapers in Rochester, Hawaii, Louisiana and Oregon, Rick was a columnist for the Rochester Business Journal and host of a local radio show (The Golf Tee Show) until his death. He was an influential and inspirational instructor to many students during his relatively short time in the Department of Communication at Brockport.
