Department of Sociology Scholarship

This scholarship recognizes one or two outstanding current undergraduate students in the Department of Sociology who possess at least a 3.0 GPA in Sociology courses. The fund was established by the department to recognize outstanding students who demonstrate commitment to and potential for excellence in a career that depends on the knowledge and skills required in the study of sociology. These careers can include social work, public policy, law, human resources, marketing research, policy analysis, guidance counselors, and demographics.

The financial assistance is in the form of a non-tuition educational expense grant that may be used to cover educational costs such as room, board or college fees. The award will be credited to the recipient’s bill during the semester(s) of the award period. The student must use this award for educational expenses at the College and may not receive the award in cash.
