Sarah F. Liebschutz Award
This award was established by Sarah and Sanford Liebschutz to annually honor the top ranking graduating senior in Sarah F. Liebschutz’s name. Dr. Liebschutz is a SUNY Distinguished Service Professor Emerita who received her Bachelor’s Degree from Mount Holyoke College in 1956 and her Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Rochester in 1971, and who served the Department of Political Science and International Studies from 1970 to 1997. Dr. Liebschutz also was an adjunct professor at the University of Rochester and was a research associate at the Brookings Institution in Washington DC. Dr. Liebschutz The Department of Political Science and International Studies contributes a second award also in honor of Dr. Liebschutz to the other top departmental scholar.
This award is selected from internal nominations within the Department of Political Science and International Studies and does not accept applications.
The financial assistance is in the form of a check if the recipient is a graduate of SUNY Brockport before the fall semester of the award period. If the recipient is not a graduate by the start of the fall semester of the award period, the financial assistance will be credited to the recipient’s bill during the semester(s) of the award period and the student must use this award for educational expenses at the College.
