Edward J. Kumar Administration & Finance Scholarship

This scholarship recognizes incoming or current students who are related to a current or retired employee from the Division of Administration & Finance, Brockport Auxiliary Service Corporation (BASC), or the Research Foundation at SUNY Brockport.
Eligible students must:

  1. Be the child, grandchild, spouse, or close relative of a current or retired full-time employee in the Division of Administration & Finance, BASC, or Research Foundation.
  2. Be accepted for admission as an incoming student or be a continuing student at the undergraduate or graduate level. Students are welcome to reapply each year as long as they are eligible by the other criteria.
  3. Demonstrate the motivation and commitment to completing their academic course of study and demonstrate the potential for future success in their aspirating career as judged by the selection committee.
  4. Demonstrate a need for financial assistance as judged by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) minus any other awarded scholarships or grants. If there is only one qualified candidate the selection committee may consider this criterion optional.

All eligible applications will be considered however, preference will be provided to students who are a child or grandchild of current employees.

The financial assistance is in the form of a non-tuition educational expense grant that may be used to cover educational costs such as room, board or college fees. The award will be credited to the recipient’s bill during the semester(s) of the award period. The student must use this award for educational expenses at the College and may not receive the award in cash.
