Karen Schuhle-Williams Exemplary Adult Student Scholarship

This scholarship recognizes an outstanding adult student enrolled at SUNY Brockport who successfully juggles their academic and non-school related responsibilities. Eligible applicants are matriculated, full-time or part-time status, undergraduate or graduate students who have completed at least two semesters at SUNY Brockport. Students must possess a minimum GPA of 3.25 and demonstrate a need for financial assistance as judged by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) minus an other awarded reimbursements, waivers, scholarships, grants. Applicants will submit a personal statement describing why they feel they are an exemplary adult student and how they have balanced academics, professional work/career, family responsibilities, and giving back through community service and/or volunteerism. Preference will be given to female applicants. In addition to financial assistance, the recipient will also receive a recognition item.

This is an Apply-To Opportunity. Applicants will need to submit one or more additional items to be considered for this award after submitting the General Application.

The financial assistance is in the form of a check if the recipient is a graduate of SUNY Brockport before the fall semester of the award period. If the recipient is not a graduate by the start of the fall semester of the award period, the financial assistance will be credited to the recipient’s bill during the semester(s) of the award period and the student must use this award for educational expenses at the College.
