Harriet Whitney Women's Studies Award
This award recognizes outstanding majors or minors in the Department of Women and Gender Studies demonstrate scholarly excellence and engagement with the department and the community at large. Recipients demonstrate a commitment to affirming human dignity, individual rights, civility, mutual respect, and rejection of all forms of prejudice and discrimination. The award commemorates the retirement of Harriet Whitney from SUNY Brockport.
This award is selected from internal nominations within the Department of Women and Gender Studies and does not accept applications.
The financial assistance is in the form of a check if the recipient is a graduate of SUNY Brockport before the fall semester of the award period. If the recipient is not a graduate by the start of the fall semester of the award period, the financial assistance will be credited to the recipient’s bill during the semester(s) of the award period and the student must use this award for educational expenses at the College.
