Class of 1964 Teaching Scholarship

This scholarship recognizes a full-time, undergraduate student who has been accepted into one of SUNY Brockport’s Teacher Certification Programs, and who has at least two semesters of study at Brockport remaining. Applicants demonstrate academic excellence with a minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.0, demonstrate the passion for and commitment to be an effective professional in the career of education, and demonstrate a need for financial assistance. They must also submit one letter of recommendation with preference on a reference from SUNY Brockport faculty/staff. All eligible applicants will be considered however, first preference will be provided to applicants who have a family member that is an alumnus(a) of SUNY Brockport.

The ideal candidate for the Class of 1964 Teaching Scholarship is an undergraduate, future teacher educator who has at least a year remaining in their certification program and may come from a household of a SUNY Brockport alumnus(a). The recipients will demonstrate the potential for success as a future teacher, although they may not have an exemplary academic record, and who would benefit from the financial assistance provided so that they can focus on becoming an effective educator.

To be considered for this opportunity you must apply through the “All Education and Human Development Scholarships" conditional application.

The financial assistance is in the form of a non-tuition educational expense grant that may be used to cover educational costs such as room, board or college fees. The award will be credited to the recipient’s bill during the semester(s) of the award period. The student must use this award for educational expenses at the College and may not receive the award in cash.
