The recipient is an undergraduate or graduate student at SUNY Brockport who has worked at Drake Memorial Library for at least one year, demonstrate a high level of academic achievement, and is currently employed at the College Library. All eligible students will be considered; however, preference will be provided to a senior (or is graduating) at the time of selection.

The financial assistance is in the form of a check if the recipient is a graduate of SUNY Brockport before the fall semester of the award period. If the recipient is not a graduate by the start of the fall semester of the award period, the financial assistance will be credited to the recipient’s bill during the semester(s) of the award period and the student must use this award for educational expenses at the College.

This award honors Mrs. Marion Wells, Emerita Librarian and former head of Public Services at Drake Memorial Library, who served the college from 1960 to 1976.
