Donald M. Tower Award
This scholarship recognizes a senior, physical education teacher education major in the top half of their class who demonstrates academic achievement, potential to become an outstanding teacher, and involvement in college activities. Donald M. Tower (1897-1977) served as President of the College from 1944-1964. He guided Brockport through a period of profound change in terms of growth in enrollment, faculty, buildings, and curriculum. The keynote of his administration was “change through evolution, not revolution”.
To be considered for this opportunity you must apply through the “All Kinesiology, Sports Studies and Physical Education (KSSPE) Scholarships" conditional application.
The financial assistance is in the form of a check if the recipient is a graduate of SUNY Brockport before the fall semester of the award period. If the recipient is not a graduate by the start of the fall semester of the award period, the financial assistance will be credited to the recipient’s bill during the semester(s) of the award period and the student must use this award for educational expenses at the College.
