Jocelyn A. Reed Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established to honor the life of Jocelyn A. Reed who attended SUNY Brockport. At Brockport, Jocelyn thrived as a student during her first two years as a double major in Dance and Exercise Science. In testimony of her tenacity and strong work ethic, she amazingly was able to balance her academic life with her active social life. Her lifetime goal was to become a physical therapist, where she would continue to help those in need.
In honor of Jocelyn, this scholarship recognizes undergraduate students who are enrolled in Dance and/or Exercise Science majors at SUNY Brockport. Preference will be provided to applicants who are double majored in Dance and Exercise Science and those who are graduating seniors. Eligible students must also demonstrate academic excellence with a 3.0 GPA or higher and demonstrate the potential for excellence in the career of dance or physical therapy. All eligible applications based on the aforementioned criteria will be considered however, first preference will be provided to applicants who identify with a minority group, in particular those who identify as black, African-American, African or Hispanic.

The financial assistance is in the form of a check if the recipient is a graduate of SUNY Brockport before the fall semester of the award period. If the recipient is not a graduate by the start of the fall semester of the award period, the financial assistance will be credited to the recipient’s bill during the semester(s) of the award period and the student must use this award for educational expenses at the College.
