Orlo L. Derby Award in Elementary Education
This scholarship recognizes an outstanding undergraduate student in an elementary education certification program who exemplifies the qualities of patience, kindness and understanding of children, as determined by the Education and Human Development scholarship selection committee. This scholarship was established through the generosity of Dr. Orlo Derby, who served as Professor of Education at Brockport, 1941-1974.
To be considered for this opportunity you must apply through the “All Education and Human Development Scholarships" application.
The financial assistance is in the form of a non-tuition educational expense grant that may be used to cover educational costs such as room, board or college fees. The award will be credited to the recipient’s bill during the semester(s) of the award period. The student must use this award for educational expenses at the College and may not receive the award in cash.
