Louis R. & Judith A. Desfosses Scholarship

This scholarship recognizes two outstanding students in the School of Business and Management, with one at the undergraduate level enrolled in the International Business program and the second enrolled in the Master of Business Administration program. Students must demonstrate academic excellence as indicated by possessing a 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA and demonstrate a commitment to a career in business and to the principles of leadership and entrepreneurship as judged by the selection committee. The recipients must have a least one semester of study remaining at SUNY Brockport following the selection.

At the undergraduate level, students must have completed at least 15 credit hours at SUNY Brockport and be enrolled in the international business program (first preference) or in classes focused on international business and actively participate in an international business related study abroad opportunity (second preference).

At the graduate level, students must be enrolled in the Master of Business Administration program as either an entering or continuing student. Graduate students must demonstrate financial need by way of self-funding their MBA program experience and not receive support toward their education from their place of employment.

The financial assistance is in the form of a non-tuition educational expense grant that may be used to cover educational costs such as room, board or college fees. The award will be credited to the recipient’s bill during the semester(s) of the award period. The student must use this award for educational expenses at the College and may not receive the award in cash.
