Madama Family Scholarship
This scholarship recognizes an incoming undergraduate student who is pursuing a degree in Sociology. Applicants must have an cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and a declared intent to major in Sociology. Preference will be
provided to applicants who have or who are on track to complete a two-year degree from an accredited community college at the time of enrollment however, all eligible applicants will be considered.
This fund was established by Mr. Patrick S. Madama, an alumnus from the classes of 1977 and 1987, in honor of his parents and their encouragement of his college education. As a first generation college graduate, Mr. Madama also established this fund in appreciation of the College’s regional accessibility and academic quality at both the baccalaureate and graduate levels.
Eligible incoming students are considered for this opportunity based on their undergraduate admission application.
The financial assistance is in the form of a non-tuition educational expense grant that may be used to cover educational costs such as room, board or college fees. The award will be credited to the recipient’s bill during the semester(s) of the award period. The student must use this award for educational expenses at the College and may not receive the award in cash.
