Mae Jemison Scholarship

The Mae Jemison Award supports a STEM major who demonstrates financial need and a commitment to self-discovery and a dedication to life-long learning.

ELIGIBILITY and CRITERIA
Students must:
1. Students must be an incoming sophomore, junior, or senior enrolled as a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) major at SUNY Brockport. This currently includes the programs of Biochemistry, Biology, Broadcast Meteorology, Chemistry, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Earth Science, Environmental Science & Ecology, Environmental Studies, Forensic Science, Geology, Mathematics, Medical Technology, Meteorology, Neuroscience, Physics, Psychology, Sociology, and Water Resources.
2. Demonstrate a need for financial assistance as informed by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) minus any other award scholarships or grants as judged by the selection committee.
3. Demonstrate a commitment to self-discovery and a dedication to life-long learning as judged by the selection committee.

The award will be credited to the student’s bill during the semester(s) following receipt. The recipient must use this award for educational expenses at the University and may not receive the award in cash.
