Edward M. Matejkovic Sport Management Scholarship
Ed Matejkovic came to Brockport in January 1984 as an assistant professor in the Department of Physical Education and Sport, specializing in Sport Management, and as a football and track and field coach. In his 10 years at the College, he strengthened the undergraduate academic program in Sport Management, founded the graduate program, was the SUNYAC Track and Field Coach of the Year, led the football team to its first post-season playoff appearance, and, as Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, turned around the College’s athletic program. In the fall of 2001, he was inducted into the College’s Athletic Hall of Fame. His legacy at Brockport will live on through this scholarship.
Eligible students must
- Be a junior or senior in the undergraduate Sport Management program in the Department of Physical Education and Sport.
- Demonstrate the academic excellence as judged by the selection committee of the Department of Physical Education and Sport.
- Have completed the first two core courses of the program.
- Be scheduled to complete the Sport Management Internship within the following two semesters.
- Demonstrate the potential for excellence in the career of Sport Management as judged by the selection committee of the Department of Physical Education and Sport.
This scholarship will be credited to the recipient’s bill in the form of a non-tuition educational expense grant. It must be used for educational expenses and may not be received as cash.
