Class of 1962 Scholarship

This fund was established by the Class of 1962 to recognize an outstanding undergraduate student at SUNY Brockport who has demonstrated a commitment and the potential for excellence in the career of teaching. The scholarship will honor the class advisors, Dr. Frances Moroney Whited and the late William Manitsas.

Eligible students must

  1. Be a matriculated, SUNY Brockport student at who is enrolled either full-time or part-time.
  2. Be accepted into one of the college’s teacher certification programs at the undergraduate level.
  3. Demonstrate academic excellence as evidenced by a GPA of 3.0 or better and exhibit a commitment to and potential for excellence in a teaching career.
  4. Submit, as part of the application, a written response describing the reasons for wanting to pursue a career in teaching that includes their involvement and experiences in the community and schools.
  5. Have at least one full academic year of study remaining at Brockport after selection.

This scholarship will be credited to the recipient’s bill in the form of a non-tuition educational expense grant. It must be used for educational expenses and may not be received as cash.
