Class of 1962 Scholarship
This fund was established by the Class of 1962 to recognize an outstanding undergraduate student at SUNY Brockport who has demonstrated a commitment and the potential for excellence in the career of teaching. The scholarship will honor the class advisors, Dr. Frances Moroney Whited and the late William Manitsas.
Eligible students must
- Be a matriculated, SUNY Brockport student at who is enrolled either full-time or part-time.
- Be accepted into one of the college’s teacher certification programs at the undergraduate level.
- Demonstrate academic excellence as evidenced by a GPA of 3.0 or better and exhibit a commitment to and potential for excellence in a teaching career.
- Submit, as part of the application, a written response describing the reasons for wanting to pursue a career in teaching that includes their involvement and experiences in the community and schools.
- Have at least one full academic year of study remaining at Brockport after selection.
This scholarship will be credited to the recipient’s bill in the form of a non-tuition educational expense grant. It must be used for educational expenses and may not be received as cash.
