Brockport Student Government Scholarship

This fund was originally established to recognize an outstanding incoming first-year or transfer student at SUNY Brockport who demonstrated a background in and potential for leadership during their college career. The goal of BSG is to attract and retain student leaders by recognizing and encouraging students who have demonstrated the ability to be of service to their institution, their fellow students, and their communities.

In 2023, BSG updated the scholarship to recognize and support new student leaders who just started at SUNY Brockport and who show the potential for growth in their leadership as they continue as upperclassmen and future alumni.

Eligible students must

1. Be enrolled as an undergraduate student in any academic program at SUNY Brockport.
2. Have completed one semester at SUNY Brockport at the time of selection and have at least one semester of study remaining at the time of disbursement.
3. Demonstrate a record of involvement in student activities which includes but is not exclusive to participation in clubs and organizations, Brockport Student Government, advocacy groups, campus-wide committees, student led initiatives, and community service on- and, or off-campus as judged by the selection committee.
4. Demonstrate a commitment to and the potential for leadership through involvement activities as judged by the selection committee.

Students who hold an elected office or who hold a paid position in Brockport Student Government are not eligible for consideration.

This scholarship will be credited to the recipient’s bill in the form of a non-tuition educational expense grant. It must be used for educational expenses and may not be received as cash.
