Annette Lamphier Rock Nursing Scholarship

This fund was established by Dr. William C. Rock in honor of his wife, Annette Lamphier Rock, whose long career in the field of nursing is a model of service that prospective nurses might emulate. The scholarship is designed to assist a student in the SUNY Brockport Nursing program that demonstrates commitment to and potential for excellence in the nursing profession. Dr. Rock is a Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus of the Department of Educational Administration who served on the SUNY Brockport faculty from 1968 through 1995.

Eligible students must

  1. Be accepted in the baccalaureate (BSN) program in the Department of Nursing.
  2. Demonstrate financial need.
  3. Demonstrate a range of interests and talents as indicated by participation in co-curricular activities and/or service to the College and/or community.
  4. Demonstrate a commitment to and potential for excellence in nursing as judged by the selection committee. Consideration will be given to the candidate’s academic record as measured, in part, by GPA and performance in clinical coursework, as well as involvement in departmental community work.

This scholarship will be credited to the recipient’s bill in the form of a non-tuition educational expense grant. It must be used for educational expenses and may not be received as cash.
