NYS Federation of Home Bureaus Scholarship in Honor of Winifred E. Craddock

This fund was established by the NYS Federation of Home Bureaus to recognize an outstanding student in the SUNY Brockport Department of Recreation & Leisure Studies who has demonstrated commitment and potential for excellence in recreation and leisure programs.

Winifred E. Craddock, known as “Winnie” to her many friends and acquaintances, served in county, district and state offices before becoming President of the NYS Federation in 1967-68. She also served as an active volunteer with local and state civic organizations, including the Holley Central School, the Red Cross and the American Cancer Society. Designation of the scholarship for a student in the Department of Recreation & Leisure Studies reflects Mrs. Craddock’s interest.

Eligible students must

  1. Be accepted at SUNY Brockport, in the Department of Healthcare Studies or Public Health & Health Education at either the undergraduate or graduate level
  2. Be enrolled as a full-time student
  3. Demonstrate academic excellence as judged by the NYS Federation of Home Bureaus in Honor of Winifred E. Craddock selection committee and an academic standing of 2.85 or better
  4. Reside in one of the New York state counties where the NYS Federation of Home Bureaus, Inc., has organized chapters
  5. Be willing to meet in person with representative(s) from the NYS Federation of Home Bureaus scholarship selection committee for an in-depth interview

This scholarship will be credited to the recipient’s bill in the form of a non-tuition educational expense grant. It must be used for educational expenses and may not be received as cash.
