NYS Federation of Home Bureaus Award In Honor of Monroe County
This fund was established by the NYS Federation of Home Bureaus to recognize an outstanding student in the SUNY Brockport Department of Social Work who has demonstrated commitment and potential for excellence in programs supporting the needs of older adults offered through Brockport’s Center for Excellence in Gerontological Social Work.
The New York State Federation of Home Bureaus is an organization of New York homemakers. The object of the Federation is to develop, strengthen and correlate the work of County and District Home Bureaus in New York State. One of the Federation’s goals is providing scholarships. This scholarship was established to honor the success of Monroe County Home Bureaus in their efforts to raise scholarship funds.
Eligible students must
- Be accepted in the Department of Social Work at either the undergraduate or graduate level
- Demonstrate a desire to study gerontology or the needs of the elderly, or speech communications
- Demonstrate academic excellence as judged by the NYS Federation of Home Bureaus Award in Honor of Monroe County Home Bureaus selection committee and an academic standing of 2.85 or better
- Reside in one of the New York state counties where the NYS Federation of Home Bureaus, Inc., has organized chapters
- Be willing to meet in person with representative(s) from the NYS Federation of Home Bureaus scholarship selection committee for an in-depth interview
This scholarship will be credited to the recipient’s bill in the form of a non-tuition educational expense grant. It must be used for educational expenses and may not be received as cash.
