Harold Rakov Memorial Award

This award fund has been established to honor the memory of Dr. Harold Rakov, (1918-1985), Professor of Political Science at Brockport from 1949 until his retirement in January, 1983, in recognition of his 35 years of exemplary service to the College as an inspirational leader and teacher dedicated ·to serving Brockport students and the Institution. The purpose of this scholarship is to promote academic excellence in the Department of Political Science by recognizing political science majors who have demonstrated high-quality academic performance and promise.

Eligible students must

  1. Be a declared political science major
  2. Be involved in either school or community activities
  3. Have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher at Brockport and a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher in their major
  4. Demonstrate great promise for future success

This scholarship will be credited to the recipient’s bill in the form of a non-tuition educational expense grant, split evenly between the fall semester and the spring semester. It must be used for educational expenses and may not be received as cash.
