MHB Series: Cyril & Gertrude Stanton Hare Scholarship
The Cyril and Gertrude Stanton Hare Scholarship was established in 1989 by Marguerite Hare Browne ’44, Associate Professor Emeritus of Education and a member of the Brockport Alumni Association Hall of Heritage, to honor the memory of her parents Cyril Hare, Sr. (1897-1969) and Gertrude Stanton Hare (1899-1985). This scholarship encourages, recognizes and assists an outstanding non-traditional (age 25 or older) undergraduate student preparing for a career in education at the College at Brockport.
Eligible students must
- Be a non-traditional undergraduate student preparing for a career in education.
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills and high potential for success in the profession.
- Have at least two semesters of undergraduate study remaining after receipt of the award.
This scholarship will be credited to the recipient’s bill in the form of a non-tuition educational expense grant, split evenly between the fall semester and the spring semester. It must be used for educational expenses and may not be received as cash.
