MHB Series: Marguerite Hare Browne Scholarship

This scholarship was established to honor Marguerite Hare “Peg” Browne, a 1944 SUNY Brockport alumna and member of the Department of Education and Human Development from 1949 to 1985. Following her retirement, she served as The Brockport Foundation, Inc. Director of Special Projects and Emeriti Affairs until 1992. Mrs. Browne, associate professor emeritus of education, was a clinical professor and founder of the SUNY Brockport/Greece Teaching Center in 1969.

The Marguerite Hare Browne Scholarship is the fourth scholarship in a a four-year sequenced scholarship package. It is provided to the Marguerite Hare Browne Scholar in their fourth and final year – there is no application.

This scholarship will be credited to the recipient’s bill in the form of a non-tuition educational expense grant. It must be used for educational expenses and may not be received as cash.
