Josephine F. Mannix Scholarship
The Josephine F. Mannix Award honors the memory of Professor of Education, Josephine F. Mannix (1894-1984) Second Grade Supervisor in SUNY Brockport Campus School from 1928-61. Miss Mannix, a dedicated educator demonstrated her exceptional commitment to the welfare of others through her lasting contributions to children and adults at SUNY Brockport and the Brockport community.
This award recognizes an outstanding undergraduate or graduate student in Elementary Education who has earned a strong academic record and has demonstrated excellent potential for success in the profession.
Eligible students must
- Be an undergraduate or graduate student in Elementary Education.
- Have a strong academic record.
- Demonstrate high potential for success in the profession.
- Be recommended for the award by at least two professional in the field of Education.
- Submit an essay on the subject of their qualifications emphasizing personal and professional experience which support their potential in the field of Education.
This scholarship will be credited to the recipient’s bill in the form of a non-tuition educational expense grant. If the recipient is graduating, they will receive a cash award instead.
