Rich '68 & Donna '69 Kopenski Scholarship

Rich and Donna were Brockport sweethearts, meeting during their undergraduate days in the late 1960s. This was an exciting and time of significant growth on campus and their experience prepared them for wonderful professional careers. After Brockport, Donna went on to receive her MSEd at Brockport and EdD from the United States International University in California. She served as a professor at San Diego State University. Rich obtained his MBA from Canisius University and had a long and successful career in the Information Technology industry.

Eligible students must

  1. Be admitted to SUNY Brockport as in incoming first-time student who is seeking an academic program leading to initial certification to become a future educator in K-12 at the undergraduate level.
  2. Demonstrate a need for financial assistance as judged by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) minus any other awarded scholarships or grants, and as judged by the selection committee.

This scholarship will be credited to the recipient’s bill in the form of a non-tuition educational expense grant. It must be used for educational expenses and may not be received as cash.

Incoming students are considered for scholarships based on their admissions application – they should not apply through the scholarship portal. For best consideration, students are encouraged to submit their application by February 15th.
